Open the box and you have the EAX-2500S surface mount alarm, the EA-561 Warning Sign, the black back box (standard 4"x4" double switch/outlet box), flush magnetic switch contacts, and the 24VAC transformer. The alarm itself is 100dB, powered by AC/DC hardwired power, and includes an optional 9VDC backup battery input so the alarm remains operational during a power failure. The EAX-2500SK kit adds four components that would otherwise require separate orders: the EA-561 Warning Sign, the back box, the flush magnetic switch contacts, and the 24VAC transformer. For a single-door installation, the SK kit eliminates component sourcing entirely. For multi-door projects, knowing that SK includes the transformer and contacts simplifies purchase orders.

Field-Selectable Features

Four features are field-selectable on the EAX-2500SK after installation, allowing the alarm to be configured for the specific application without ordering a different model:

Status indicators are field selectable for visual notification of arm/disarm and alarm state. Auto re-arm options are field selectable: the alarm can be configured to re-arm automatically after the door closes following an alarm event. Low battery alert is field selectable for notification of backup battery status. Silent arming is field selectable for situations where audible confirmation of arming would be disruptive.

Extended Bypass Feature

The extended bypass allows the alarm to remain silenced while a door is held open for authorized purposes, such as during a delivery or maintenance window. When the door closes, the alarm automatically re-arms, so staff don’t need to reset it manually.This feature eliminates the nuisance of repeated alarm silence requests during legitimate extended door-open events while maintaining automatic protection once the event ends.
