Falcon T101S Grade 1 Passage/Closet Cylindrical Lock

The Falcon T101S is an extra heavy-duty Grade 1 cylindrical passage lever lock, built on Falcon's T Series platform for high-traffic commercial applications. ANSI Function F75 means the latch bolt operates by lever from both sides at all times. No locking mechanism, no key cylinder required. This is the function specified for interior hallways, closets, storage rooms, corridors, and any opening that needs a latching lever without access control.

The T101S is part of Falcon's T Series  Allegion's extra heavy-duty cylindrical lock line, certified to ANSI/BHMA A156.2, Series 4000, Grade 1. American Locksets is an authorized Falcon dealer.

What Makes the T Series Different From Standard Grade 1 Locks

Most Grade 1 cylindrical locks use torsion springs behind the lever rose. Torsion springs can fail at the bend points after thousands of cycles, which is why lever sag becomes a problem in high-traffic buildings. The Falcon T Series replaces torsion springs with heavy-duty stainless steel compression springs behind the rose. Compression springs don't have bend points that can crack. They maintain consistent lever return across the full service life and virtually eliminate lever sag, which is the primary failure mode of lesser lever locks in institutional settings.

The trim is through-bolted with two 10-32 screws coated with thread sealant. Through-bolting creates a mechanically rigid connection that resists loosening from repeated cycling, vibration, or vandalism. Inside levers are secured by Allen-head set screws, which prevents casual tampering or removal without the right tool.

Pressure Release Lever System

The T101S includes Falcon's Pressure Release lever rotation feature, standard on all T Series locks. If the outside lever is subjected to excessive force  a common form of institutional abuse it disengages rather than transmitting that force to internal lock components. This protects the spindle, hub, and chassis from damage that would require full replacement of the lockset.

Physical Specifications

Function: Passage/Closet, ANSI F75. Handing: Non-handed  installs on left-hand or right-hand doors without modification.

Door thickness: 1-3/4" to 2-1/4" standard. Thin door adapter kit (A30775-000-00) available for doors thinner than 1-3/4". Thicker door configurations available from the factory.

Backset: 2-3/4" standard. 2-3/8", 3-3/4", and 5" also available.

Latch: 1/2" bolt projection, UL listed, square corner faceplate 2-1/4" x 1-1/8". Optional 3/4" projection latch with 2-3/4" backset available. Adjustable front standard.

Strike: 4-7/8" x 1-1/4" ANSI straight lip with curved lip to meet ANSI A115.2 door frame preparation standard.

UL Listed: 3-hour A label fire door.

Mechanism: Parts constructed of brass or cold-formed steel, zinc plated and dichromated for rust resistance. Roses are wrought brass or bronze over steel through-bolted rose inserts. Minimum rose diameter 3-1/2" per UL requirement.

Cylinder Compatibility

The T101S passage function doesn't use a cylinder. For other T Series functions in the same lock family (entrance, office, storeroom, classroom), the T Series chassis accepts cylinders from most manufacturers, small format interchangeable cores (SFIC), and Schlage full-size interchangeable cores (FSIC). This makes the T Series line the right long-term platform for facilities that may need to add or change cylinder configurations across different doors over time.

Lever Styles and Finishes

Three lever styles available on the T101S: Avalon (A), rounded transitional lever; Dane (D), angular contemporary lever; Quantum (Q), angular institutional lever. All in solid pressure-cast zinc finished to match mating parts.

Five standard finishes: 605 Bright Brass, 613 Oil Rubbed Bronze, 619 Satin Nickel, 625 Bright Chrome, 626 Satin Chrome. Optional abrasive coating available on all levers for identifying hazardous area entrances per accessibility requirements.

Electrified version available at 24VDC, 0.185 AMP for electric strike or access control integration.
