Sargent 8800 Series: The Institutional Exit Device Standard for Sargent Campuses

 

The Sargent 8800 Series is the institutional exit device specification for campuses that have standardized on Sargent hardware. ANSI A156.3 Grade 1, UL 305 panic hardware, and UL 10C fire exit hardware listed. Available in touch bar and full crossbar configurations. The 8888 multi-function model supports the widest range of function codes including EO (exit only), NL (night latch), L (lever trim), and TP (thumb piece trim). Sargent 8800 Series trims are not interchangeable with Von Duprin or any other manufacturer's exit devices.

 

Sargent 8700 SVR and 8600 CVR: Paired Door Applications

 

Sargent 8700 Series is the surface vertical rod device for paired door applications. Sargent 8600 Series is the concealed vertical rod for architectural projects where surface rods are architecturally unacceptable. The same SVR vs CVR decision applies as with Von Duprin devices: SVR for most applications especially retrofits, CVR for architectural projects where the door can be factory-prepped. For a complete Sargent paired door specification, pair with Sargent exit device trims.

 

Sargent Exit Devices on Single-Brand Hardware Schedules

 

Sargent exit devices coordinate in finish with Sargent 8800 Series lever locks, Sargent door closers, and Sargent cylinders. For projects specifying complete Sargent hardware throughout, one hardware schedule and one submittal package covers the complete product family. Finish codes match across all Sargent product categories.
